Dirty Dancing tickets are now available and can be bought or sold at Stubhub.com!

While lots of people will be out buying Dirty Dancing tickets to see the show on Broadway the man that really made it famous will sadly not be in this production. Patrick Swayzes wellchiseled chin and mop of hair made him a Hollywood leading man in the 80s when the movie first came out and became an instant blockbuster. The film also jettisoned him to the big time of course launching the career of an actor that would go on to star in some deliciously cheesy films.

Though hed become synonymous with both Dirty Dancing and much later Ghost Swayze got his start in action pictures that are the perfect complement to those that made him famous the famous pictures could easily be considered chick flicks; the others are definitely guy flicks.

The first notable release anyone interested in Swayze should see is Red Dawn a 1984 picture that captures the fear of Communism that would come to epitomize the Reagan administration. In that a Soviet invasion takes over a good chunk of the United States. But in a small midwestern town deep in enemy lines a group of young men are forced to grow up early and fight off the Commies. Swayze has a short but strong performance as an Air Force pilot shot down over the teenagers town who teaches them to attack the Red Army professionally.

Then in 1989 Swayze portrayed the philosophercooler James Dalton a man with scars and a mysterious past that comes to a small town and is hired to straighten out a rowdy roadhouse. Besides scenes of him shadowboxing and generally beating the crap out of people the audience gets to see Swayze deliver one of the most ridiculous lines in all action filmdom: Pain dont hurt.

Finally in 1991 he portrayed the surferturnedforceofnature Bodhi in Point Break. As one of the most satisfying of all Hollywood action pictures its a movie that anyone looking for an entertaining night with friends needs to see. Again philosophizing Swayze portrays a crazy badass ready to take on the world at the drop of a hat.

Biker Jokes Make The Best Bar Jokes

Biker jokes often make the best bar jokes especially if told in a bar that bikers frequent as they are the most inclined to laugh at these jokes. People tend to like jokes that are about them even if they are less than flattering. Most people will not get sore if they are told a joke especially if it is told in a good natured way.

Bikers actually have a pretty rough reputation but do a lot for charity. There are bike runs for Toys For Tots every year and bikers are usually the first people to step up to the plate when someone in the community needs help. Biker jokes often poke fun of the rough reputation of the bikers but should not be mean spirited. Some of the best bar jokes around are those that involve bikers.

A biker bar is a bar where mostly bikers hang out. Despite what people may think these are not big brawling bars but a place where camaraderie is shown. There are actually more fights in other bars than in biker bars despite what you see in the movies. Bartenders who work in these bars usually know the best bar jokes as well as biker jokes. In a biker bar they are one in the same.

Anyone can end up making friends in a bar if they know how to tell a good joke. The joke should not be offensive to the patrons and unless you are a biker you should not go into a biker bar and tell biker jokes until you get to know the people better lest they think you are there to harass you. If you go into a bar it is a good idea to know some bar jokes. Most bartenders know a ton of jokes and are always ready to listen to more so that they can pass them on to other customers.

A bar is a place where people gather usually with some sort of common interest. A great deal of people bikers and others go to a bar so that they can be around other people and not feel lonely by themselves at home. The atmosphere of a bar can be considerably lightened to the point where people feel that they are among friends simply by knowing a few good jokes.

You can find bar jokes and biker jokes right online. This is the best reference for finding all of the best jokes. If you have a difficult time remembering jokes as many people do you can write them down so that you can remember them for later and tell them when you go to bars.

About the writer:nbsp;nbsp; In biker bars biker jokes are often considered the best bar jokes and you can get plenty of both by going right online.

About Artist Stef Driesen Art Work And His Paintings At The Saatchi Gallery

Influenced by the works of Northern European Old Masters Stef Driesens paintings often incorporate references to art history through their colours compositions and subject matter. Through this lineage Driesen draws from his own personal experiences to create beautifully expressive canvases evoking both emotional and physical sensuality. Using his own sexual identity as a platform for investigation Driesens work expands upon the theme of man and nature: each canvas conceals a human form within his abstracted landscapes creating a symbiosis between the romantic sublime and mortal carnality.

Using a fleshy earthy palette Driesens canvases blur the bounds between tangible and psychological space. Watery grounds delicate brushwork and intensified tones lend a sense of dreamlike terrain translating materiality of paint into ephemeral fields redolent with contemplation desire and loss. In their poetic articulation Driesens paintings convey the intimacy of the human condition rendering it equally fragile and heroic.Watery mountain scapes and dramatic skies frame ambiguously figurative foreground elements. Soft pinks and flashes of azure punctuate dark canvases highlighting rivers through the picture plane and revealing landscapes beyond. Ultimately Stef Driesens compositions expand space opening up an imaginary dimension into a world full of the theatrical and fantastic.

Stef Driesen draws inspiration from the compositions colour palettes and themes explored by these Old Masters and is inspired by the way in which they used all of these elements to project a vision of life in their time political religious romantic or otherwise.
Things To Know About Medieval Tapestries

In the medieval times it was only the rich and famous people who commissioned art. The works took after religious signs and dramatic art forms. Sometimes art was commissioned to show every day occurrences such as Les Vendanges which gives us a rare insight into the lives of the people in those days.

Another such remarkable illustration is the wall tapestry inspired by The book of hours’ or Les Tres Riches Heures’ citing medieval art. The name is suggestive that this was an amalgamation of text for all liturgical hours of the day which consisted of many other supplementary texts like psalms prayers masses etc.

The authentic manuscript it is believed was painted by three brothers Jean Hermann and Paul thought to have been born between the 1370 and 1380. The work was believed to be completed by in between the years 1412 and 1416. These tapestries bear sketches and pictures of the different months of the calendar. These scenes are connected with the events that take place during that particular season like the harvesting season.

Since tapestries are made from cloth the weave assists in beautifying the original work. Tapestries thus make for interior decoration pieces. The best tapestries are those which can enhance a relative amount of appeal which makes people attracted to them apart from being the exact replica of the original masterpiece.

These days medieval tapestries are the rage because art lovers want to give their homes a feel of the yesteryears. There are plenty of medieval tapestries available which you can love and treasure.

Art lovers will cherish medieval tapestries because of its style and unique difference from those of today. Original tapestries can be found in Paris at Louvre.

Among the medieval tapestries the lady and the Unicorn are famous. Found during the year 1844 they were spoilt by moisture at that time. The Cluny Museum bought them during the year 1853 and tried to preserve them. You can now find them in the museum kept in a room of their own.

The next time you want your home decorated with something unique opt for a medieval tapestry that can not only ring in an old world charm but lend a much needed ambiance and exclusivity to your home.

Aurel Schmidt was born on 1982 in Kamloops BC Canada. currently lives and Works in New York.He was living a really charmed life in Vancouver. The zombie drawings take a long time. Days Months… I’ve never timed it Everything was perfect. he needed to make life more difficult.he wanted a challenge to try new things meet new people.Executed with painstaking detail Aurel Schmidts Body Swallows World pictures a fairytale landscape turned nightmare. Rendered in coloured pencil with acrylic paint highlights Schmidts forest allures with the organic rhythms of vivification and decay as thousands of tiny hand drawn bugs worms snakes and creepy crawlies devour the scene. Reminiscent of Durers The Large Turf or Arcimboldos composite figures Schmidts drawing combines beauty and horror in its microcosmic embellishment creating a sense of awe in its meticulous craftsmanship and allegorical subject matter.

After seeing her work on Tim Barber’s Tiny Vices I became an instant fan. After doing a little internet research and poking around in her FBI file I contacted her and conducted the following interview. I hope a gallery in the Bay Area brings her out here at some point. Because I have a feeling that her work is even more impressive in the flesh.

Time care and detail are the first things that come to mind when looking at Ms. Schmidt’s work. It’s as every crevice of one of her pieces is filled with something for the eye. Painstaking attention to every detail is spelled out in each of her lines.

What Does Wii Stand For Anyway?

That’s a great question! And one that is kind of difficult to answer since the letters WII do not really represent individual words. Like the good old USA stands for United States of America it’s not the same with Wii. But what does Wii stand for?

When you first take a look at the word it’s uncertain just how it’s pronounced but it’s simple enough just like “we”. But how did Nintendo decide on the name? Well Wii was not even a word until April 27 2006. That’s when Nintendo changed the name of its Seventh Generation gaming platform from its project name of Revolution.

The proper name Wii according to Nintendo is simply Wii and NOT Nintendo Wii. They are very clear on that. And that’s huge because this is the very first product they have marketed outside of Japan that does not carry the Nintendo brand name. While you will hear people refer to more than one Wii as “Wii’s” Nintendo makes clear that the plural is actually Wii Systems or Consoles or Games. The word Wii is not used in a plural form but only the object it describes.

But what does Wii stand for? Nintendo’s spelling of “Wii” with two lowercase “i” characters is meant to resemble two people standing side by side representing players gathering together as well as to represent the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. The company has given many reasons for this choice of name since the announcement; however the best known is Wii sounds like ‘we’ which emphasizes that the console is for everyone. Wii can easily be remembered by people around the world no matter what language they speak. No confusion. No need to abbreviate. Just Wii.

What does Wii stand for today? Now more than ever before Wii stands for innovative applications to wireless technology. Think about all of the different applications for this technology for a second. With the introduction of Wii Cooking Mama: Cook Off and Wii Fit we start to see applications beyond all of the games for Wii.

The whole idea behind the Wii technology is to bring people together. With so many different applications available the Wii Console is slowly becoming the home’s media center.

Are True Artists True Salespeople?

Art industry has it peculiarities. On one hand it is just like another business full of hype marketing tricks corporate gibberish. On the other there are bleeding hearts and artists make their stand Roger Waters the Wall. To be successful in the world of art for a young artist requires to acquire those traits of characters which she openly opposes: the so called professionalism good communication skills etc.

Want to be a successful artist? Play by corporate rules. It is a full time job to market oneself. Want to create and dwell in the realm of art? Sell your masterpieces by the sidewalk cheap to lazy tourists.

All we see is pop art. The real art rarely surfaces the public. I have seen the paintings of the underground underdogs and I must say that Picasso is on vacation. Why do I even mention this name? Is it because I was taught that in school? I guess so.

There is no regret. The real art is not for masses. I am not an artist I have no courage to be become one. In modern reality it is safer to be a mediocre business man than a mediocre writer or painter.

Internet once promised an easy way for the artists to become known. However these days information highway is full of billboards ads large corporations. Artists retreat. Commerce advances. Maybe it is the way the world works? Has it ever been different?

Is Shakespeare is just another Elvis?

We put together an on line gallery partially of nature of charity. We would like to give a chance to underprivileged unknown shy or any other artists who are not able to fight with mainstream. Who want and need only one thing: to create.

Will we be successful? Who knows? We are trying.

It is interesting however how shy and vulnerable some artists are. Self assertiveness is not something they can boast of. Sometimes I think that a true talent comes with assertiveness. A genius comes with obnoxious amount of it.

A friend of mine noted that War and Peace was the art on the level of the TV Show Friends. They did not have mass media at the time. People read books for entertainment.

To find striking talent one must dive into the world of not rich and not famous.

Stamina is the primary attribute for the World Of Warcraft Warlock. Here’s why:

1 Agility grants an enhanced chance for critical hits in melee. What good is that going to do a spellcaster? It has nothing to do with your spells chance to crit.

2 Intelligence increases your chance to get critical hits with spells. DoT’s have no critical hit capability. Well Immolate can crit with its initial blast.

Strength is of no use if the World of Warcraft Warlock has to rely on melee then he’s doomed. The Wow Warlock’s primary source of damage is DoT spells so it just doesn’t make sense to put a high investment into INT. Spirit may seem useful because it increases your manna regen rate. However since a World Of Warcraft warlock has the ability to convert Health into Manna it really makes sense to increase Stamina.

Warlock Weapons

Focus on building your dagger skill. Equip a wand in your off hand and keep an eye out to purchase or loot everbetter wands. Wands are a great back up when your mana is low. They also fire off faster than most Warlock spells.

Wow Warlock Talents

For leveling and groups avoid Demonology. It takes forever to kill something. In the arena Demonology is great. With the correct spec and gear a Demonology Warlock can take forever to kill.

The Destruction spec is great for soloing and groups. Destro locks do tons of damage and hit lots of crits. In top level PVP Destro is the worst spec for a Warlock. Your critical attacks are so blunted in PVP that you just won’t do enough damage.

Affliction is a great allaround build. It works well for PVP and PVE.

Drain Mana is useful in PVP especially when combined with Fear. You can fear your opponent and drain his mana while he runs crazily around. This is a great way to prevent a Paladin from bubbling and healing. Improved Corruption on the Affliction tree to instant cast is also mandatory.

Drain Life is mandatory in PVP. When you have an opponent dotted and feared a Shadow Bolt may break fear. Drain Life will continue to damage your opponent will heal you and has less chance to break fear.

World Of Warcraft Gold Guide Database – Enlarge Your Bags To Maximize Your Time And Profit

This is one of those easy to forget tactics in World of Warcraft one that could cost you if you don’t cover this base early on. You usually realize that you need to get on the ball on about your bags when you find that rare drop and you can’t drop anything to get it because you have too many important items. Well you need to fix that quickly because you’ll feel the need bags as early as possible especially during the first 10 levels.

Well there are several ways to fix this but let’s look at the cheapest and quickest ways first.

What does your guild have or what do your friends have? Find out because if you can find a friendly tailor you can do some farming and get enough materials to have them make you some bags for the cheap. Tailors are capable of making almost any bag in the game the only limitations they have is for those special bags for those special drops. If you can’t find a tailor use tradechat to find one. There’s a good chance you can find one that is willing to trade some labor for a good tip.

Also do some early quests and kill mobs in transit. Humanoid mobs often drop linen cloth in the newbie zone. Get going on this early to start accumulating some cloth to use for a friendly tailor. Some of the quests are specifically for getting bags.

Wharf Master at Rachet: Old Moneybag a 6 slot bag.

Captain Sander’s Hidden Treasure Captain Sander’s Booty Bag Alliance only at Westfall.

Digging Through the Ooze in Wetlands 10 slot bag

Sturdy Lunchbox 12 slot bag can sometimes be had from the drops from mobs of Venture Co. Foreman in Stranglethorne Vale.

Swirling Vortex Thousand Needles can occasionally drop a 12 slot bag
Now if this fails you need to find a good deal at the Auction House. In order to accomplish this you need to hit the Auction House when there is a gluttony of bags to be found this will ensure competition and will allow you to get the deal your looking for. This is where your Auctioneer addon comes in handy you’ll be able to survey the field and find when the supply is high. Couple this with some patience and you will find a winner. It should go without saying that your target is the best bag at the cheapest price that you can afford.
